The Clark Collection

As the “Clark Collection”, as we call it, kept amassing, and its breadth, scope and importance became clearer and clearer Bruce and I knew that we had to figure out what its future would be. Our first step was to establish a not-for-profit entity and to appoint a Board of Directors comprised of historians and museum professionals. In 2013 “The Hale Historical Research Foundation, an Education Corporation in the State of New York” was formed. In the same year the former Clark property was designated a National Historic District and Scragwood’s restored walled garden was listed in the Smithsonian Archives of American Gardens.
